Overall, all types of mesothelioma have a very grim outlook. By the time symptoms occur in a patient, the disease is usually too far advanced for even the most aggressive treatment to make a difference. Generally speaking, though, the cancer outcome does depend on how far your stages are when diagnosed. Some people are diagnosed early, with a higher mesothelioma survival rate.

Remember that statistics are based on large numbers of patients, all with different factors. Statistics cannot predict exactly what can happen to any given patient. No two people are the same. One patient does not respond in the same way to a particular treatment as the next one. Understanding the symptoms and causes of mesothelioma directly affects a patient’s mesothelioma survival rate.
